Just rightWhile expensive, these jeans are amazing. They fit really, really, really well. I wear a 14 (American Eagle, Target, Land's End, brands carried by Nordstrom) and ordered a 14. These went on perfectly, not sucking in, no laying on the bed to zip up. Many say NYDJ bag out and these do not, not even close. They fit right at my belly button and bag slightly in the back but everything that matters is still covered up. The back and front pockets are normal size, not the tiny ones in front that normally come with slimming jeans. I can fit by huge wad of keys in the front pockets. Seems like most petite jeans are longer than they used to be and are all about 2" too long for me even with shoes, but I like sandals too. I am nearly 5'5" but have a long torso and shorter legs. Normally, I can only wear skinny jeans and better jeggings. These are truly the perfect length. I can wear them with sandals and with sneakers and hiking shoes without them being too short. If you can wear a straight leg or regular bootcut in a short length, these will likely be too short for you.I wear 4 in her jeans and this 4 was like a 2 and super short. The 7 days went by faster than I expected so I’m stuck with them.I used Amazon Prime Wardrobe; cudos to Amazon for a wonderful way to clothes shop. With that said, I picked the 8p as I've gained a little weight and the 6p's were just too tight in the waist. However, after washing, the pants stretched out, so I made the wrong decision. The material is not the quality they used to be. I really don't think they're worth $106 anymore. When you open the package, be warned there is a strong chemical smell. After washing, that goes away. Also, they are a real lint-catcher. Terrible. So unhappy with my choice. I just assumed NYDJ's had kept the quality of days gone by. They did not. I also paid another person to take in the legs, as I have smaller legs than normal. Knees were baggy after 4hrs of wear. The integrity of the jean changed after washing. I would not buy NYDJ again. They were the best jeans I owned a few years ago & just assumed they still would be.I think these are the ones I have.. i bought 5 and returned 3...but i would say the same about the other ones I have..I am somewhere between a 2 and a 3 on this.. between "it's ok and I don't like it.". I am wearing them as I type. I love them.. for about 4..maybe 6.. hours. But I spend the rest of the day pulling them up because of the stretch factor. And then I have to wash them.. almost every time. I rarely wash pants each time I wear them and they are lay flat to dry.. so i am always forgetting to wash and then you have to factor in the drying time. (i.e.: don't go and try and wash them the night before you need them) But they DO look good for those first 4 hours and they do what they advertise. I am a size 12 with a pooge... All my weight is in my belly and they are nice for that but i feel as if i'm loosing my drawers after I wear them for half a day. These are a tad better than the other more straight leg ankle ones I own...I wish I had 5 more pair, but they don't seem to make them anymore. :'(When I tried them on at first, they fit me perfectly but I wore them a couple more times over the weekend and they stretched OUT! Too baggy in the hips and thighs now.The manufacturer recommends buying a size smaller. I’m a size 6 but purchased a size 4. Although the 4 fit with bending, crouching and general movement, I returned them for my regular size. I’m supposing the recommendation is for a more snug fit and that the waist doesn’t creep down over hips. I’ve been wearing a belt with my size 6 because they do creep down a tiny bit. This is a stretch material, are very comfortable and can be dressed up or down. After washing them multiple times, the color has not faded and actually can rub off on fingers and nails.I've taken size 2 in NYDJ for ages. These were sized very differently despite having the same size number. Also the fabric? very thin - really, not denim. I used to love NYDJ, have been loyal to the brand for probably 15 years. They used to be made of a high quality stretch denim. Sturdy. They have consistently dropped in quality year over year. Better to go to a brick and mortar store and check on the label if they were made in the U.S. That's or at least it used to be assurance of a better quality. Now they are made in the U.S. in Mexico and China (I don't know where else) and you are stuck with the luck of the draw online. The ones I got were made in Mexico and did not have the awful smell that someone else commented about. Hope this helpsThey don't fit as well as my original, store-bought, boot-cut NYDJ jeans; the NYDJ logo on the jeans is different from the originals and the waist band is lower and uncomfortable. I didn't wear them immediately and wish I had because the time is past for returning them now. A waste of money as I won't wear them. These jeans fit great but after a few washes they look stretched out at the bottom of the leg and the top of the waistband seam is falling apartGood quality jeans, but not consistent with other NYDJ in sizingPants tend to be linty
